Two students stabbed at school

This morning at 8:45 am two boys from a Scarborough high school were stabbed. The to boys were 14 and 16. The school didn't go into lock down due to the fact that the police were able to ind the criminal as soon as the stabbing was done. The police have one lone suspect who they think is the stabber right now, maybe others will come up later. The two boys are in the hospital with none life threatening injuries.

I think this is terrible. there were two boys stabbed today, and one Wednesday. I find it crazy that there are this many stabbings happening in school. I'm glad that these 2 boys weren't seriously injured, but if these keep happening than some one will be seriously injured and some might even die. This needs to be stopped before something worse happens.

Durham Home hit by a Stray Bullet

As a man was relaxing in his home last night his home was hit by another stray bullet coming from Lake Scugog. Lake Scugog is right next to the mans home, and it is a very popular spot for sport shooting, and target shooting. Sometimes bullets miss the target, and that's when injury can happen. This bullet was the 5th to hit this man's house, and he can't be alone. The man says, that target practice is the reason people in the subdivision can't get to sleep at night.

I can't believe this could have happened. I would understand if this was the only time it happened, but this was the 5th time that this mans house had been hit. I find it crazy how this could have happened, and I don't think it could be legal. This is what police are trying to figure out too. Hunting is allowed, but authorizes aren't sure if target practice is legal. I don't think that it should be legal because if houses are getting hit up to 5 times, then you don't know what will happen next it might be worse and they might hit a person.

Back to Back Crimes

Residents woke up to the sounds of police sirens at 4 A.M. today. The man was stab in the early hours of the morning. He was found by the police and the ambulance took him bask to the hospital. The man was in his mid 40s. Just after the man was taken away by an ambulance there was another stabbing. The man was next to a church with on the ground with stab wounds.

I think this is crazy to happen. In the same spot within an hour of each other. Right now the two people are in hospital with serious injuries, but they should be able to survive. I think this is just crazy I don't know why anyone would stab someone else, and I wonder if it was the same stabber twice. I hope they find this guy and get him in jail. I just think this must have been a terrible way to wake up, especially if you have to wake up like that more than once.

Apartment Cleaning

When you leave your apartment there is a law that states that you have to make it clean and "move-in condition". This is what came up today. Someone is being fined for not having the apartment clean enough.
She took pictures before and after of the apartment, and thought it was clean enough, there was no damage, but the owner of the apartment thought it wasn't good enough. He fined her $1,500 and she didn't pay it fr 30 days. They went to court for it and payed $400 for the court session.

I think this was a waste of time. They both had to spend $400 to settle an argument of $1,500. The woman ended up winning the argument, but she still had  to spend $400. I agree that the owner of the apartment should be able to charge people who leave the apartment a mess, I think that the person should fix up any damages, but if you are spending $400 over a $1,500 argument, then it's not worth it. I think that people should just clean up there stuff so this doesn't have to happen.

Ignatieff's Promises

Ignatieff, the leader of the Liberal party, has been making different promises about what he is going to do once he gets in power. His biggest promise is that he is giving out a billion dollars for students going into college or university. This would allow students to get  $1000 per year for their university. Lower income families could get up to $1500 for every year of university or college.

I like this idea by the liberals. I think that it is a good way for students to have a bit of help in college, and allow them to get a further education. This will also look good for the Liberals. It will allow more students to go to college, so it can make it seem that when the liberals were in power, more students were getting post secondary education. I wonder how they are going pay for all of this, but if it comes out of tax payers money I still think it will be worth it for the students. I think that this is a good promise by the liberals, and I hope that they will keep this promise.

Fire Truck hits car

Police are still trying to figure out why a woman in her car was hit by a fire truck. It was due to the stop lights not working right. Usually they turn green for the oncoming fire truck, but this time the lights didn't switch on time and a 42 year old woman was hit and killed. Police are still trying to figure out who's fault it was, but they can't figure out until they know what colour the light was. Once they know that they have to judge if there was enough time for either person to stop on time.

I think this is just at fault of both the drivers relying too much on the stop light and not relying on what they can see and their own driving skills. I think that timing the stop lights can really help in case of an emergency, but it can't make all the decisions for you. The drivers of the fire trucks still need to look out for different cars, and the drivers of the other cars need to know when a fire truck is coming. I think that this is nobody's fault it is just a case of two people relying on something that isn't 100% effective. The stop lights aren't the answer to people's driving they need to look out for themselves.
